New Music Video Project - Group Blog

Hello everyone! Welcome to my second blog post of the music video project, my group blog!

In this project I will be breaking away from the previous duo of David and I. In this project I will be working in a trio with my two classmates/friends, Macaria Castillo and Sara Samuels. In this particular group I am excited to work with them. I have not worked with these two before but I am optimistic we will be able to productively and professionally collaborate to create a wonderful music video. Considering that my trio group consists of all of us being relatively good friends, the issue poses of us possibly not being able to stay on task, or the group butting heads because we disagree frequently. To combat these issues I plan to use the communication efforts I used with David on our commercial. To avoid constant disagreement David and I prioritized effective communication of our ideas and made sure to incorporate everyone's ideas to come to a fair consensus. Whenever we had an idea for a certain scene but our ideas were different from one another, we would re-imagine the scene to incorporate both of our ideas. This usage of collaboration made sure that no group member felt as though there weren't being heard or valued. To remain on task at all times along with properly managing the workload, following an organized production schedule helped along with communicating who handles what to fairly ration project workload. I know and have assessed the personality types and production styles of each of my group mates and we can and will work great together. So far with the minor brain storming we have done, we have been able to smoothly choose the song in our music video, along with the video sequence and format. The song chosen was Heather by Conan Grey. The brainstorming process went smoothly and I see this patter continuing on throughout the the production of this music video. Reflecting back on the commercial project, I it's very important to choose good, quality groups as the projects progress. As I am still a beginner to the production process, I recall the commercial being quite overwhelming with the workload and honestly if I didn't have such an amazing group the project may have been much more difficult. So as the projects go on throughout this course, they will only become more rigorous and requiring much more production so having strong, consistent, productive groups is key to succeeding. With that being said, I am confident I am participating in this project with a strong, productive, and professional group!
