Fifth Production Blog - Wrap Up Filming

Image
Hello everyone! Welcome to my fifth production blog! In this blog we'll be following my final day of filming! Since I took on this final task independently I knew it would be a lot of work but since the film is independent some aspects of the filmmaking process would naturally be easier. However I did find my self slacking unfortunately! So today I set out to complete every scene and film. For some reason I made my schedule very lax and considerable to the amount of time I have to work on this film. Even though I was running on time with my film and editing schedule, I noticed that I needed to make some adjustments to my initial schedule to complete the film in its entirety. AICE testing and FSA testing is approaching so I truly am on crunch time with my film schedule. Today I went over my storyboard and called my peer, who is also going to be my secondary actor. During the call, we went over some creative aspects and ideas to incorporate with the scenes. We thought up an editing

Fourth Production Blog - Re films and Mistakes!

Image
Hello everyone! Welcome to my fourth production blog! In this blog I'll be discussing today's production blog through my re films. Last blog I had discussed that I went to the gym to film my gym scenes. This unfortunately went quite wrong for a few reasons! My footage was clear, it was clean, and it met the amount of footage I needed. The unfortunate and key error I recognized was that the video was vertical! Unfortunately in film, vertical video cannot be used. This of course was quite disappointing at first but all is well. I still have ample time allotted to continue filming. In this instance I also appreciate the fact that I am primarily working by myself and can work on my own schedule. In the event I was working with others, I would have had to deal with ample amounts of accommodation to fix this issue. Rescheduling according to everyone's schedule, as well as transportation to my gym to keep the setting consistent would all have to be film components I would have h

Third Production Blog - Film, Film, Film!

Image
Hello everyone! Welcome to my third production blog! This blog outlines my second filming blog. So in the previous blog, I did film, however I primarily focused on music. Today was used as a continuation of last week's filming. Today I was able to continue filming the filming, or re filming per-say of scene one. I also took today's time to start and complete the filming of the gym scene. This scene was actually so enjoyable to film! I filmed during my regular workout and it was so peaceful. I love working out while it's raining outside and today it rained! It was so peaceful and serene and helped contribute to the smoothness of filming. Once again I want to preface as my film is about eating disorders, NO EXTENSIVE OR DISORDERED EXERCISE TOOK PLACE! My workouts are solely for the purpose of maintaining my health. But I was able to film all the angles and shots of the scene as I needed to.  Something that I have noticed since I am filming and producing the film by myself is

Second Production Blog - Music Blog!

Image
Hello everyone! Welcome to my second production blog! In this blog, I'll be discussing how I am handling the music for my film.  Since my film is independent, I am finding that I have a lot of productive freedom. I have almost complete autonomy over the schedule followed for production. For example, I've found that I have made my filming days very specific to my needs so I have enough free time to clear other production aspects. I decided that I was going to focus on music since the other actress involved, Samantha Fernandez wasn't available to film our scene do to work duties. I will say the accommodation needed was a breeze since we needed to solely accommodate one person due to personal scheduling vs an entire group. Anyways, today was spent getting my film's music in order. The initial plan was to use two songs to cover the film, Breathe Me by Sia and the instrumental to C U Girl by Steve Lacy. Although I still plan to use these songs, I have added more music I wan

First Production Blog - Filming Day and Editing Day but mostly edits!

Image
Hello Everyone! Welcome to my first production blog! Today was my very first day of production. I filmed all of scene 1 but also focused on the editing aspect. First referring to the filming aspect, I did have to do a few retakes since I am filming alone! Getting the angles right while meeting my ideal shots was a challenge but i managed to do it! since I was filming such a small portion it was quite convenient. I also skipped the chronological order and began shooting the gym scenes which was done out of convenience. So all in all got a complete two scenes done. Now with the editing, I know at first glance it seems impossible to start editing before you film but in my instance I took time to explore an editing software. I will be using the classic iMovie editing software for some basic portions of my film. However, I was lucky enough to have free access to Premier Pro and Final Cut to edit my film. I have very limited yet proficient knowledge of Final Cut and Premier Pro since it was
