Finally Filming!

Hello Everyone! Welcome to my first production vlog, my filming blog!

Today is our first day back filming after the initial commercial project. My group and I anticipated this portion of production, however we felt that it would be a complete piece of cake since we’ve filmed before. My group and I were incorrect. Filming wasn’t necessarily difficult but it was quite the process. First off, we experiences some setbacks that had the potential to shut down our production for the day. The issues began with our videographer being short on time so we had to work quicker to get the most amount of footage from our quality videographer. Secondly, our actor David had been quite tired due to him having track practice beforehand. We had to do some re-shoots at times or suggest he splash water on his face since he appeared visibly tired. Despite the issues, my group and I were able to still get as much footage as possible and even more importantly, as many quality shots as possible. Another key component to my group and I combatting our issues was how individually and collectively focused and determined to get our work done. We all had the mindset to remain focused on our goal, finishing filming. We all have very determined and productive mindsets so whenever we ran into an issue we used this mindset to progress. When we encountered issues with the shots we were quick to work together to brainstorm a new shot to replace the old, disliked shot. Whenever we found an issue with the scene length whether we needed to shorten or lengthen it we were quick to collaborate to curate a new scene. Another common issue we came across while filming was the need to give additional stage directions to the actors. To prevent any awkward moments in the video we would also collaborate to figure what to cue the actors to do. Overall I am proud of my group and I. We had such a short amount of time and felt the stress at times but we persevered and got our footage. The next step is to edit and polish our video and then we have the final product!
