Final Task - Intro Blog

Hello everyone! Welcome to my Intro Blog for the final task!

- Referencing to my previous introduction, I am a sophomore at Fort Lauderdale High School taking my first year of AICE Media Studies. This course is also known as AS level AICE Media Studies. This introduction represents my final introductory blog of the year as we now begin to craft a 2 minute film. Although I cannot call myself a film professional, the level of growth and experienced as increased immensely from the first project of our commercial. During the creation of that project, I had possessed nearly zero film and production knowledge and/or experience the way I do now. Through repeating the planning, executing, filming, editing, and overall producing aspects of filmmaking, my skills have improved majorly. The gradual increase in the project complexity also helped to develop a better sense of film making. Going from a 30 second commercial to a one-minute-and-fifteen second music video, to now a 2 minute film. When conducting brief overview brainstorming on this project I knew I wanted to aim for a film theme that could effectively and concisely deliver a plot in the 2 minute mark. I knew I wanted to focus on developing a relatable and original plot as well that would carry good detail.

For this task I'm considerably more excited in comparison to the previous tasks. this is solely due to the fact that I feel as though i have more creative freedom on this task. Since it's a film I can have more freedom to create my own creative parameters. I'm also excited due to the extended timestamp! In previous projects I frequently found myself having the issue of over planning eventually making me go over the allotted time. Now that I have a new allotted time of 2 minutes, i still have a brief yet sufficient film time to explore more means of creative production. The music video task definitely served as a major prerequisite to being prepared for this task. With the "Heather" music video, we were tasked with developing a complex plot line to match up with the chosen song. In this task there isn't necessarily a key song to follow but a conveyed theme is what needs to be followed to produce and deliver a good film.
