Fourth Production Blog - Re films and Mistakes!

Hello everyone! Welcome to my fourth production blog! In this blog I'll be discussing today's production blog through my re films.

Last blog I had discussed that I went to
the gym to film my gym scenes. This unfortunately went quite wrong for a few reasons! My footage was clear, it was clean, and it met the amount of footage I needed. The unfortunate and key error I recognized was that the video was vertical! Unfortunately in film, vertical video cannot be used. This of course was quite disappointing at first but all is well. I still have ample time allotted to continue filming. In this instance I also appreciate the fact that I am primarily working by myself and can work on my own schedule. In the event I was working with others, I would have had to deal with ample amounts of accommodation to fix this issue. Rescheduling according to everyone's schedule, as well as transportation to my gym to keep the setting consistent would all have to be film components I would have had to re orchestrate. This issue was a quick fix fortunately. Since the gym is located in the proximity of my own home, I was able to easily just go and re film. I re-watched the previous footage to get everything exact. I also looked back at my script to get my necessary stage directions for the scene. I put on the exact clothes I wore in the footage from the previous filming day and got to work. The footage I captured this time was actually very pleasing. Another inconvenient, yet easily fixable issue I talked about in the previous blog was how filming and capturing certain shots and angles was difficult when filming on your own. To fix this I went to Five Below and purchased a cheap yet highly effective tripod! This made filing much more accessible and convenient for me which was nice! Overall I am very pleased with today's project progress and the film content, and more importantly, it was actually horizontal this time.
