 The Perfect Best Friend Screenplay/Script


Exterior. Park Setting. Daytime


  • Jasmine is jogging around the park where laura spots her behind a tree, laura moves in closer to come in contact with jasmine sitting on a bench near her, jasmine eventually drops her phone from her pocket where laura and her first meet


  • laura picks up jasmine’s dropped phone running a little bit to catch up and return it to jasmine


Laura: 

hey you dropped your phone 


Jasmine: 

oh god this happens all the time thank you so much i would have lost it if i lost my phone for good 


Laura: 

no problem! and omg did you paint that scenery on your lock screen? it’s amazing 


Jasmine: 

yeah I did, thanks. Actually here’s some of my other work

(Jasmine turns to show laura her phone with photos of her art)


Laura: 

you’re really talented, i would have never taken you for the art type, see all my friends think i waste my time painting, and that i should take on bigger and better things


Jasmine: 

Aw I’m sorry, art is my therapy it’s where i store my stress, you know what we should paint together sometimes, i need more art friends anyway


Laura: 

Yeah, i would like that a lot, hey can i get your name 

(Laura says while giggling)


Jasmine: 

I completely forgot my name is jasmine


Laura: 

nice to meet you jasmine and not park girl, i’m Laura, you should add me on insta


Jasmine: 

Yeah for sure my @ is 

(jasmine begins showing laura her phone to take down her instagram) 


Laura: Thanks here’s mine

  • laura begins showing jasmine her phone to take down her instagram


Jasmine: Well it was nice meeting you Laura, and not the girl from the park 


(both begin to laugh at one another in unison)


Laura: Thanks nice meeting you too



jasmine runs back on her original way while laura begins walking in the distance again

music begins playing entering a wide shot of the two going their separate ways

scene changes where laura is see in bed scrolling through jasmines instagram with her diary in hand

laura begins taking down notes from jasmines instagram 

every music begins

Laura prints out a photo of jasmine and her boyfriend, pastes it in her diary and draws a red letter “X” over jasmine’s photo of her and boyfriend


laura’s mom steps in the room

Scene 2. Evening time. Interior


Laura’s mom:

 hey lau are you okay love bug


Laura: 

Hey mom, yes, yes i’m fine Laura says nervously 

Laura’s mom: 

okay lau, i’ll be out for a few hours, i left 40 for pizza on the counter, bye sweetheart


Laura: Okay, thanks, bye mom have fun


  • Laura smiles at her mom until her mom turns away from the door, laura turns around back to her bed slamming the diary shut abruptly


scene change has happened where jasmine and her boyfriend are out getting frozen yogurt


  • jasmine’s boyfriend walks over to the table to sit with jasmine


Jasmine: 

your cup looks like a volcano what did you get


Joseph: 

my usual, vanilla with everything at the topping bar 


both begin laughing together, while jasmine gets repeated texts from laura


Joseph:

(Joseph while looking at jasmine and her phone)

Jas who’s that texting you?


Jasmine: 

It’s nothing i swear, when i was jogging a few days back, i met this really cool girl, we’re going painting together, she’s cool I swear and you know how i’ve been looking for more art friends


Joseph: 

Well in that case i’m happy for you, here’s to new friends and old passions


both toast their frozen yogurt with the screen fading, laura is seen walking in the distance looking at Jasmine and Joseph secretly 


Scene switches to laura and jasmine in the park with jasmine walking with a canvas to go meet you with laura


Scene 3. Daytime. Exterior. Both arrive at park to paint


Laura sitting down: 

Hey Jas how are you, are you okay with me calling you jas


Laura: 

Hey i’m doing good and yes of course, how are you


Jasmine: 

I’m doing great, I’m glad we’re doing this I’ve been so stressed between school and life 


Laura: 

Same here honestly 


screen shifts to wide back shot of Laura and Jasmine painting 


Laura:

 Let’s play a game to know each other more, have you played two truths and a lie before, it’s where we tell each other three random facts but only two of them are true and we have to guess each other’s lie


Jasmine: 

Hmm that sounds fun, I’ll go first, hmmm let’s see,i’ve been bitten by a snake before, i’ve been with my boyfriend for three years, and i’ve never been to another US state


Laura:

 the snake one HAS to be fake no way 


Jasmine: 

laughing, i’ve actually never been to another us state before, but i’ve left the country 


Laura: 

No way, so how does someone get bit by a snake before seeing another us snake


Jasmine: 

I guess I'm just a woman with weird luck


Both begin laughing hysterically


Laura: 

so three years with your boyfriend, that’s awesome congrats, i wonder what that’s like 


Jasmine: 

Thank you, excitedly, he’s really great, he always supports me in everything i do, i mean despite petty arguments, i really love him, it’s like after a while, they just become home to you, he’s amazing 


Laura: 

I bet he is, laura says fake enthusiastically turning her head to the side 


Laura: 

(Laura turns her head away to reach in her bag)

anyways i love your  painting, maybe i need some improving



Jasmine:

 Hey i’m sorry what you were saying, Joseph texted me, 


Laura:

Is everything okay?


Jasmine: 

Yeah of course, he just wanted to know if I wanted to go for frozen yogurt but I told him im busy


Laura: 

Aw okay, but i was saying your painting looks amazing


Jasmine: 

Thank you, you’re one to talk look at yours 


Screen fades into a wide shot fading to scene 4 of Laura in her room


Scene 4. Daytime. Interior. Laura in her room


Laura is seen looking at Jasmine’s instagram dressing up like Jasmine,Laura begins looking in the mirror comparing herself to Jasmine,she then slicks her hair, grabs her purse then walks out the door 


Scene 5 fades in when Laura is seen at the frozen yogurt parlor looking for joseph.


Scene 5. Evening time. Interior. Laura steps in the Frozen yogurt parlor, sees Jospeh and prepares to begin flirting with him


Laura: 

(approaching Joseph)

Hey, what flavors are your favorite, It’s my first time here



Joseph: 

Hey im sorry, I don’t actually work here


Laura: 

no that's fine I just wanted the input of a cute stranger 


Joseph: 

looking down nervously, um well


Laura: 

Is something wrong? Wait i should have introduced myself, I’m Laura


Joseph: 

Hey im Joseph, and No, nothing at all is wrong we can try them together to see which one you like



Laura: 

Yeah, I would like that a lot


Both begin trying the different flavors in frozen yogurt parlor


Laura: 

Let’s play a game, two truths and a lie, where we tell each other 3 random facts, two are true, but we guess each other’s lie


Joseph smiling: 

I’m down


Laura:

Okay, I’ll go first, I’ve been bit by a snake before, i’ve never been to another US state, and I had a boyfriend of three years before


Joseph:

 the snake is a lie it HAS to be


Laura: 

Nope, but i have seen every US state before


Back to the drawing board with my screenplay

Another Hiccup

 Hi everyone! Welcome to my twelfth production blog. While things were going smoothly. Of course there was another hiccup. The big cheating scene I raved about completing, of course it was incorrect. Of the many errors in the scene I would accept such as noise in the background or people moving too much, I made the worst and most simple mistake. I shot the video vertically. honestly this has made me quite upset. As much fun as this film was, I am honestly so ready to move on from it. I love AICE Media and it’s been a fun two years taking the course but my oh my this film has been very consuming. Since today is Friday, I do have to wait almost a week to continue filming. Due to scheduling the only days designated to film were Tuesdays through Thursdays. Hopefully Elijah, Jasmine, and Laura can all make it. But it’ll all be okay. One thing I am reassuring myself of is that spring break is near so I’ll be able to utilize more than 3 hours 3 days a week to get things moving. Honestly, ...

 Hello everyone, welcome to my Planning Blog! In this blog the general commercial plan will be discussed for my Gatorade Protein Bar commercial partnered with David Brown! The general overview of the commercial is to portray our core athlete, David Brown, who will be a track star consuming the bar before he begins his sprint along the track. The commercial begins by a wide shot zooming in capturing David doing some stretches and setting up the track obstacles to prepare for his sprint. The next scene will cue to David eating the bar while looking victorious in the face getting ready to run the track. David then sets the bar down on a table and moves away. After this another wide shot scene will play out with David in his starting stance preparing to dash the track.
